Answering your question regarding transport from Oslo to Trondheim – my answer is: a bike, I mean push-bike, of course. I have bicycled from Honefoss (52 km north-west from Oslo) to Trondheim three times and it took me five days (one way). I’ve seen many interesting sites on my way, met many interesting people and even stroked/pat a reindeer somewhere along the E6. For those who are in the hurry I have an advise: live slow and you will live longer and better life.
I’m a regular reader of your blog, you’re doing a great job!
Robert

As a blue-collar American with a solid career of more than 20 years, I continue to be envious of how much more personal time Norwegians have in comparison to me. It seems plausible that Norsk social pressure will be applied at some point to incorporate or allow the needed train travel time to fit into their working schedules.

I am ignorant to the functions and actual mechanics of Norwegian bureaucracy, but I suspect pressure to add additional rail lines and services would be met with titanic lethargy. Hope for the best?
