I’d agree with your conclusion – worth doing if there’s little/no price difference or if you need to carry a lot of luggage. Otherwise, I’ve always found the economy class of the BAs and Lufthansas of this world to be pleasant enough places to spend a couple of hours at a time, so not otherwise worth upgrading from.

Oh – and presumably the phone trick would work for each individual phone number. For instance, I’d assume that someone carrying one for personal use and one for business use would also be able to get 2 hours of the wifi too.

The tray space must be huge to juggle that lovely meal! I have problems even on KLM’s economy’s service!

I knew this one would split opinion 😉

As I think I alluded to, I picked up these seats in the sale and wouldn’t pay full price for them. As it was, I was able to fly business class for the price of economy seats – and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Disagree on this one – total waste of money on such a tiny trip and T5 is one of my least favourite places on earth. Would rather have a quiet hour on a bus to Rygge than the same time at Heathrow however alcohol laden the lounge.

Business is by far the best value – ie what you get for your money – class. First is so much more money but the jump in quality doesn’t make it worth it.
