You’re right about the road into Nyksund! Very narrow and unpaved at that time (about 2016). I was by myself but felt very comfortable as an older lady just strolling along the harbor. I had the best fish soup at an outdoor cafe on the docks – part of a youth hostel I think. I had a funny experience there – I tripped on something and did one of those run-walks to regain my balance. I felt very silly. All the Norwegians looked away but a little lady rushed over to me and started speaking Spanish! Asked if I was OK. I don’t speak Norwegian but I do speak Spanish. We had a great chat. She worked at the cafe and was married to a Norwegian. She said he didn’t talk much 🙂 so she enjoyed talking to me. I have never fogotten her kindness. It is a lovely spot to visit.
