We both have boring lunches consisting of slices of bread with “beleg” (Dutch word for “pålegg”, basically translates to the exact same thing, but is also used for when an army of knights is laying siege to a castle or city for some reason, like “Het beleg van Leiden” (or any other medieval city, lots of “beleggen” (or “belegen”? But that’s used for cheese that’s been laying (liggen) around for a while) back then I guess…)
