I agree that the easiest way to buy and use tickets is via the smartphone AtB app. The system is really easy to use, but my only complaint is that I found it hard to locate some places on the map, which is systematic rather than topographical. Never mind: maybe I’m too fussy. Buses are clean and I noticed only one failure of a bus to turn up. Luckily I knew how to work out an alternative, or I would have missed my trip on the blue bus to Orkanger, several kilometres out of town.

What is best is up to you, but you can buy tickets at most kiosks (Narvesen, 7Eleven etc) and from the AtB customer service centre.

Currently I am living in Vienna but planning to move to Trondheim and is there any option to buy a annual pass for one calendar year and pay it monthly? If it’s not is there an annual pass? For example in Vienna a monthly pass costs around 55€ and an annual pass costs 365€ but this annual pass I can pay full amount or I ca pay it monthly and costs 31,25€. I pay 10€ more than a whole annual pass, but it is more favorable price 31,25€ than 55€ per month for the same service.

The tram into Bymarka uses the same tickets as the bus, no need to book, you can pay on the tram itself in cash or buy a ticket from a kiosk beforehand which would be a bit cheaper.

I am going to Norway ny cruise leaving the UK and arriving in Trondheim on the 16th July. Is the Tram easy to book and use or should I book with the cruise ship. What is the cost as the cruise is charging £42.00
