When I moved to the US in 1958 ,I flew from Oslo to Seattle, WA. My seat was behind the wing and I looked out to see flames form the motor and panicked!!
I called the stewardess and she tried to calm me down! She spoke in a calm voice explaining that the engine get hot but it was ‘no worries’ for me. And it didn’t help that it was in the middle of the night as well. My husband ridiculed me instead of calming me down- well, he, is not in my life anymore.
