Mentioning that they were German probably was just an identifier that would be recognized more immediately in the way they talked. The crutches probably "didn't have anything to do with anything" either, not likely related to how or why she was killed, just something she noticed. But now that you've got the whole plan figured out in a way that no detective could have, I'm sure you'll solve it in no time.

What were the chances more than one one-legged man was touring that day? They really couldn’t track him down? Kinda ridiculous. I doubt it was a guy with one leg, but still, they should’ve been able to find a one-legged German tourist pretty easily. I don’t think the German has anything to do with anything. Just a coincidence. Had to have been one person (or someone would have said something by now). Only one person can keep a secret. Very rarely can two people (or three or more) keep a secret. It was probably a man between the ages of 26-49 (based on ages of murders and victims by age in all counties across the world who were most likely to visit around the same time as the murder). People tend to kill within their own race. So probably a white male. So now you have filtered out more than half of the people who didn’t do it. Use your resources to look for white adult males between 26-49, more than likely by themselves (it is less likely that the murderer was traveling with someone else). A white male between 26-49 traveling alone.
