Love the articles about Norway and its history. My mother is from Oslo and my father is from Bergen, actually the island of Stord. I hope that Norway does not squander its resources investing in windmills which destroy natural life starting with birds. Windmills require huge amounts of acreage and maintenance. Europe has learned this the hard way so be aware. I never learned enough Norwegian as my father wanted to learn English as quickly as he possible after the war.

Why is Norway so rich? Complex answer and it sjust not about oil. They politics are social-democratic. They pulled the corporates into line to prevent neo-liberal economic abuses by these people, they have been phenonomal stewards of the oil resources, and they did not have a 3rd country stealing this resource.
